Fiber Eventful!
These next couple of weeks, there are a lot of fiber activities going on in our area!
This long weekend (April 20-22), the Kansas Alliance of Weavers & Spinners is holding its annual conference in Manhattan.
Knitting in the Heartland is happening in Kansas City during the same time frame, so some people have had to make a hard decision about which event to attend. Other people are taking advantage of the proximity of opportunities and are dropping in to both events.
Saturday, April 20 is the first annual nationwide Local Yarn Store Day. As we all know, yarn shops are endangered species, and it benefits everyone when we support them financially!
After a brief break, the Harveyville Spring Fiber School starts up on April 26th, and it looks like there may still be a few spots open for Yarn School, Rigid Heddle School, and/or Dye Lab.
Our Warping Workshop is being rescheduled, possibly for the last weekend in July. Check back for more information, or subscribe to our Class Update newsletter at the right, and we’ll keep you posted!
Participants in this workshop will be able to take advantage of our instructors’ combined 54 years of warping and weaving experience to learn about project planning, plus great tips and repair techniques to make their weaving stress free.
