On the agenda – October 2011
Learn to weave a random warp scarf at our Guild meeting this Saturday, October 1 at City Arts in the Weaving Room on the 2nd floor. The doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Social time is from 9:30 to 10 a.m. with the meeting starting at 10 a.m. Bring your tie-dyed items from our last meeting for show and tell!
Mary Utting-Booker and Diana Collins will teach you how to weave a fun, colorful random warp scarf. Mary will show us how to pick colors from a couple of novelty yarns and blend with other yarns to weave into a colorful random warp scarf. She will share with you her tips and shortcuts on warping and threading your loom.
Bring 30 yards of various novelty, solid or other weaving yarns and a warping board if you have one. If you want to bring your table loom with an 8-dent reed, Mary and Diana will assist you with warping and threading as time permits. A few warping boards will also be available for use. Swapping and sharing of yarns will be encouraged. Random warp scarves that Mary and Diana wove over the summer will be on display.
