The program for this meeting was dyeing silk scarves with Sharpies.  Yes, you read that correctly… Sharpie permanent markers!

After drawing on the prepared scarves with Sharpies, alcohol (not the drinking kind) was dribbled, dripped or poured on, which liquefied the colored inks.

Some members went with very artistic and detailed designs, others experimented with blobs of color and how the colors ran and intermixed before the alcohol dried.  The variety is fascinating… and although you can’t see them here, the finished scarves are beautiful!
