Whether you are brand new to needle crafts or are a seasoned knitter wanting to branch out, crochet is a fun, portable craft to ignite your creativity. 

In this class, you will learn all the fundamentals to get you started with crochet. We will go over materials used for crochet, making a foundation chain and basic stitches including slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, and double crochet.

Over the two classes, you will use these new-found skills to complete a series of mug rugs and/or placemats, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee outside or a summer picnic!

Classes will be held on two Wednesdays, May 10th & 17th, 2023, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Class fee $60.  Register online and submit $20 via PayPal to reserve your spot. Bring the remaining $40 (check, PayPal or exact cash) to class.

Materials to bring:

  • Size H/5mm crochet hook
  • At least 1 skein/ball of worsted weight (#4 medium) yarn in color(s) of your choice – cotton recommended
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry/Yarn needle (optional)

Instructor will provide:

  • Mug rug/Placemat pattern
  • Instructions to take home on basic crochet stitches

The location for all classes is the Fiber Arts Center of Wichita at 751 George Washington Boulevard.
