Don’t throw away that favorite sweater or knitted accessory just because it has a hole! Learn how to mend knitwear items to extend their usefulness. Knitting experience is helpful, but not necessary!
This class will cover basic repair techniques (not visible mending or decorative patches) for knitted garments such as sweaters and socks.
Learn about the structure of knit fabric and practice repairing holes and runs on stockinette, garter and ribbing on special swatches. We will also discuss choosing yarns for the repairs and tips for working in yarn ends.
The photos show before and after mending with contrasting yarn – but repairs on your own items are best done with matching yarn to be undetectable.
Class will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.
Instructor: Sharon Barnes
