Create your own Thanksgiving or fall decorations – learn to weave wheat into a beautiful art piece!

Experienced wheat weaver Marian Vavra will teach participants how to take seven wheat straws and weave them together using the 7-straw flat plait technique.

Each participant will make two versions. The first one will be left straight or tied into a loop, and the second one can be shaped into a napkin ring. Along the way, she will teach two basic knots used for tying the straw; the clove hitch and the surgeon’s knots.

This is a good beginner project, and open to other skill levels, too. No previous experience is required, and the class is suitable for adults and children ages 12 and older.

Class will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 1:00 – 3:30 pm.

Instructor: Marian Vavra
