~ Session two in the 5th Saturday Workshop ~

Take your sewing in a new direction by learning techniques to embellish fabric with metal!

In this class you will make a 6″ x 6″ size  work of art by creating a fiber and metal circle.

Participants need to be comfortable with using a sewing machine. Bring your own, or note in the comments field of the registration form if you need to borrow a sewing machine. There are a limited number of machines available!

Class will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Class fee $40.  Register online and submit $10 via PayPal to reserve your spot. Bring the remaining $30 (cash, check, card, Facebook Pay or Venmo accepted) to class.

Materials to bring:

  • Sewing machine
  • Size 14 denim needle
  • Bobbin of black or white thread
  • A selection of thread for decorative stitching
  • Protective eye wear
  • Optional – bring your own fabric scraps to play with!

Instructor will provide:

  • Prepared canvas
  • Scrap fabric
  • Metal

The location for all classes is the Fiber Arts Center of Wichita at 751 George Washington Boulevard.
