No prior experience is required for this beginning class in primitive rug hooking. Bring a sack lunch and immerse yourself in a new skill!
A brief history of the art and craft of rug hooking will be provided, along with information about the tools and equipment available for rug hookers.
Participants will hook a small project in the class and will have the opportunity to purchase additional supplies for a larger project.
Class will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, 10 am – 2 pm.
Instructor: Marnette Hatchett & Janet Hamous
Class fee $60. Register online and submit $20 via PayPal to reserve your spot. Bring the remaining $40 (cash & check accepted) to class.
Materials to bring:
- Lunch
- Scissors
- (if available) 10″-12″ embroidery hoop
Instructor will provide:
- Instructions
- Pattern drawn on monks cloth
- Rug hook & wool strips to complete project
The location for all classes is the Fiber Arts Center of Wichita at 751 George Washington Boulevard.
