February 2013 meeting
Please join us for the February 2nd Guild Meeting at WSU!
Nancy will be teaching various braiding techniques, creating products that can be used for trim, embellishments, or more utilitarian pieces such as handles, straps, or key chains.
Location: McKnight Hall, room 118
Date: Saturday, February 2, 2013
Time: Social at 9:30 a.m., meeting 10:00 – noon
Directions to McKnight Hall are as follows: exit off of Hillside onto Alumni Drive. The McKnight building will be on your right. Enter the north wing (around the curve of the street) through the brown double doors that face Hillside. Parking is available in the lot across the street from the McKnight Building.
Viking knit program
During the January 5th meeting, guild members had a great time learning about the history of Viking knitting and its relationship to nalbinding, a fiber technique which preceded knitting, and then getting some hands-on experience.
Most people finished their bracelets before the meeting ended, and several modeled their new jewelry!
