December 2015 Meeting and Fun Auction

Plan now to attend the annual holiday luncheon and ‘auction’ on December 5th! 

Janet and Steve H. will be hosting again this year, and will provide the meat.  Members should plan to bring a side dish or dessert for the luncheon (we’ll eat at noon), and one or more fiber-related items for the auction to follow.

This is a play money auction; everyone gets the same amount, and we have a great time bidding on the items!  It’s a fun way to re-home those nice things that you have realized you won’t get around to using, and bring home something new – and have some good laughs in the process!

November 2015 meeting

The program  for the November 7 meeting will be inkle loom weaving:

For the upcoming meeting, please bring your inkle loom, shuttle and scissors.  Bring whatever yarn you want suitable for inkle loom weaving.  I would recommend cotton – rug warp or pearl.  Bring 3 or 4 colors.  If you are unsure about the yarn or don’t have anything suitable, I will be bringing some for people to use.  The weaving we make would be suitable for a hat band or headband.  If you would like to make a purse strap or something larger, bring in larger diameter of cotton yarn.  If you would like to view a YouTube video on how to weave on an inkle loom, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yy6saHjqC4.  Hope to see you all at the meeting!

Directions: Exit off of Hillside onto Alumni Drive. The McKnight building is the second building on your right. Enter the north wing (around the curve of the street) through the brown double doors that face Hillside. Parking is available in the lot across the street from the McKnight Building.
