Annual Holiday Luncheon

The Guild’s traditional December get-together is always a fun time.  Members bring a dish for the pot luck, so there’s always great food – and then the real entertainment kicks in!

Members also bring one or more fiber or fiber-related items; spinning fiber, tools, books, whatever they realize they’re not going to use.  Then, we pass out play money and ‘auction’ everything off.  Everyone goes home with something new (to them) and a few laughs to remember.

Second Chance Sale

We’re having a ‘Second Chance’ Sale immediately following the November 5th meeting! There is still plenty of commercial yarn for weaving and knitting/crochet, handspun yarn, the beautiful backstrap loom, books & magazines and miscellaneous items. NEW this time around are additional magazines, some spinning fiber (cotton & cotton blends) and workshop notes and other files! Proceeds go to the guild treasury; payment with cash or checks only – we are not able to process cards.

ALSO – Guild members are welcome to bring books, tools and fiber for individual sale (proceeds to the seller). No finished items, please. This is a great opportunity to move along those things you’re not using – and make space for new stuff!

Art Yarn Refresher

Learn about and practice core spinning techniques to make art yarn – thick and thin, loopy or bumpy, maybe with some added “things.”  Bring a spinning wheel if you have one, or bring another project you’re working on and stay to watch and commune.

Denise Renee will bring her Schacht Wheels for people to test drive them! She will talk about the benefits of each wheel and how spinning wheels work in general (adjustments and mechanics). She will be offering discounts on Schacht Wheels and other Schacht equipment.  If you have ever wondered about Schact products, you can have your questions answered here!

Directions: Exit off of Hillside onto Alumni Drive. The McKnight building is the second building on your right. Park in the lot across the street, and enter the north wing through the brown double doors that face Hillside (shown in the center of the picture below). Look for a “Guild” sign on the doors!
