Have you always wanted to learn how to knit socks but are intimidated to try? Join us for this class which will demystify the process and take you through all the steps so that you can begin making your own!
You will learn all the components of a handknit sock including knitting the cuff, leg, heel and gusset, foot and toe. Skills learned will include knitting in the round on double-point needles and using kitchener stitch to graft the toe closed.
These skills will be used to create a miniature sock which can be used as the first of a pair of baby socks, or for an ornament or keychain. Then use the same techniques to start knitting custom full-sized socks.
This is not a ‘learn to knit’ class, but is appropriate for all levels of knitters. Participants need to be able to cast on, knit and purl, increase, decrease and bind off.
Class will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:30 pm.
Instructor: Jennifer Durham
