This event is a wonderful introduction to both the Japanese technique of shibori dyeing and the use of natural indigo dye!

No previous experience is required, so come and learn how to dye a beautiful and unique piece of fabric which can be used for a garment, quilt, bag, or as art in its own right.

The process involves folding the fabric in patterns, clamping or tying it, then dipping in indigo. Multiple dips and airing times will be required to get that characteristic deep blue color. Allow at least an hour to complete your dyeing project.

Make plans now to attend on Saturday, October 1 at The Sewing Center (see address and map link below).

There will be two sessions – sign up now for either one to guarantee your spot! Walk-ins will be accepted IF SPACE ALLOWS (bring full fee of $35).

Participants will need to purchase fabric on arrival at the shop ($3.50 per fat quarter) or may bring their own white 100% cotton fabric.
