Hand embroidery is a fun and relaxing craft with endless possibilities for projects! From personalizing clothing to creating colorful art pieces, this is a craft with mass appeal which has stood the test of time. 

In this course you will learn the basics to get started with this timeless craft, including different methods of transferring an image to the stitching surface, how to do the most common embroidery stitches, ways to finish a piece of embroidery, plus tips and tricks for beginners.

Embriodery stitch sampler

You will get a chance to practice all of these stitches by creating your own unique stitch sampler to take home to reference for future embroidery projects.

Class will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Class fee $45.  Register online and submit $10 via PayPal to reserve your spot. Bring the remaining $35 (check, PayPal or exact cash) to class.

Materials to bring:

  • 6-inch embroidery hoop
  • Sharp scissors (embroidery scissors recommended
  • (Optional) Seam ripper & needle threader

Instructor will provide:

  • Fabric
  • Embroidery thread/floss
  • Embroidery needles

The location for all classes is the Fiber Arts Center of Wichita at 751 George Washington Boulevard.
