Ewe to Yarn Series
Color holds an inborn fascination for all of us, and we each have our preferences. In this class, you can dip your toes in a number of color prep techniques using equipment you may not (yet) own.
Whether you buy dyed fiber or dye it yourself, there are many ways to blend and combine those colors (even the ones you don’t like!) to create a unique and beautiful yarn.
Learn how to produce:
- Colorful textured ‘rolag-punis’ or feltable sheets with a blending board
- Gradients and tweeds on a drum carder
- Striped top using a blending hackle
Take home your samples to spin, plus plenty of ideas for further color play!
Masks optional.
Additional classes in the Ewe to Yarn series will cover various fiber prep and spinning techniques.
Class will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
