Fiber Prep Tools – Resources

Wichita Weavers, Spinners & Dyers Guild Posted on September 7, 2017 by webadminSeptember 10, 2017

Building on the September 2017 meeting program, here are a few online resources for the tools demonstrated by Guild members Sharon Barnes, Susan De Wit, April Nilsen, Nancy Squire and Denise Renee.

Download the meeting’s handout, a chart of fiber prep tools and their uses.

Please bear in mind that there are many ways to use these tools, and that the ‘right’ way is the way that works for you (as long as you stay safe)!  Try searching YouTube for other techniques.

HLA Fiber Mill Tour

Wichita Weavers, Spinners & Dyers Guild Posted on March 11, 2016 by webadminMarch 11, 2016

Last week, our meeting was a field trip – to HLA Fiber Mill east of Augusta, Kansas!

Owners John and Sara Morris graciously hosted our tour of their small and efficient facility, showing us the many steps of processing fiber from fleece (wool, alpaca, whatever!) to finished product.
