Come help us celebrate the longest day of the year with art and fun (and pie, while it lasts)! There will be free activities as well as the take-home projects that you won’t find anywhere else. This event puts the summer FUN in fundraising for the Wichita Weavers, Spinners & Dyers Guild! All proceeds directly support the Guild and its fiber education activities.
Come and go any time between 2 – 8 pm on Friday, June 20, 2025 to…
- See artworks in fiber and other media in the gallery exhibit (opening reception from 6 – 8 pm) and at outdoor booths
- Enjoy a slice of home-baked pie ($5) – and bring your own picnic if you like
- Browse the sale table for yarn, frame looms and more
- Bid on items donated to the silent auction
- Watch or help with wet felting a wool rug, then bid on the finished item in the silent auction
- Visit the Guild’s weaving studio to see works in progress
- Watch a demonstration of the ice dyeing process at 2 pm
- Dye your own fiber, yarn or fabric (or purchase fabric while supplies last) in an indigo vat, and watch the magic before your very eyes ($10/item) starting at 2 pm
- Create a small weaving project using a branch as your loom ($10) from 3 – 5 pm
- Dye your own bamboo socks ($15 per pair) from 4 – 6 pm
- Join in, or watch as spinners turn fiber into unique yarns, or try your hand at spindle spinning (5 – 7 pm)
- Bring your own project and just enjoy spending time with us under the large shade trees!

There has already been a lot of work accomplished behind the scenes, but your support is critical. If you can share the event on social media, bake a pie, bring some ice, or volunteer for an hour or two while you’re there, your participation will help ensure its success.
See the volunteer form and let organizers know how and when you’ll be able to help. Be sure to choose something that is fun for you!
