Learn to spin on a Turkish spindle – whether it’s your first introduction to the age-old art of spinning, or you’re a wheel spinning veteran and want a more portable option.
This 2-hour class is open to all ages, from 8-year-olds through senior adults.
We’ll cover the basics of spinning yarn from prepared fiber, including drafting, inserting twist and winding on the spindle, plus plying from center-pull balls.
Students will take home a shimmering 3-D printed Turkish spindle, fiber to continue practicing their skills, and ideas for things to make from their own handspun yarn.
Class will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2pm – 4 pm.
Masks are required to help keep everyone safe!

Class fee $40. Register online and submit $10 via PayPal to reserve your spot. No PayPal account required! Bring the remaining $30 (cash, check or PayPal) to the first class.
Instructor will provide all supplies & materials.
The location for all classes is the Fiber Arts Center of Wichita at 751 George Washington Boulevard.
