Clothespin Basket

Saturday, June 16, Noon – 4:00 pm

This is a beginner level basket weaving class for everyone aged 16 and up. We will use the splint woven method, add antique clothespins as legs and a wire swing handle.  (Note that the spring clothespin in the picture is just to help show the handle!)

Class & materials fee: $45

Instructor: Nancy Mercer

Register online and bring payment to class.  Cash or check accepted.

IMPORTANT – Materials to bring:

  • Several clothes pins (a dozen should do)
  • Small flat screwdriver
  • Sturdy sharp scissors
  • Small needle nose pliers
  • Measuring tape
  • Utility knife (box blade)
  • Pencil
  • Old towel
  • Plastic washing tub or canning stock pot (about sink size) to soak reed and basket

  • Wire handle
  • Wire eyelets
  • Antique clothespins
  • Reed for basket

 

The location for all classes is the Fiber Arts Center of Wichita at 751 George Washington Boulevard.
