This is a fund raiser workshop for the Guild.
The Japanese arashi shibori technique will be done on a 15″ x 4″ pvc tube. The pleats represent a storm of rain beating down. Shibori means shaped fabric.
We will work with silk pre-mordanted in citric acid, then wrap with string and shear up on the tube before applying the dye.
This class is more extensive than the March Guild meeting activity, so if you enjoyed that (or missed it), here’s your opportunity to dive deeper into the technique! Class size is limited to 15.
Workshop will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
Instructors: Mary Sue Foster and Ernie Kind
Class fee $60. Register online and submit $15 via PayPal to reserve your spot. Bring the remaining $45 (cash, check or card) to the first class.
